Grange Hill
A school drama that horrified every parent in Britain.
Phil Redmond's series about a London comprehensive, with bullying, truancy and a sausage on a fork in the title sequence.
It was the first children's programme that treated school as a place with real problems. Questions were asked in Parliament, which was the best publicity it could possibly have had.
The theme tune is instantly recognisable to anyone who was under sixteen between 1978 and 2008.
