Privacy

We try to collect as little as possible, and to store nothing we would not be comfortable explaining.

What we store

If you send something in, we keep what you typed, any images you uploaded, and your email address if you gave one, so we can tell you when it is published. If you join the newsletter we keep your email address and the date you confirmed it.

IP addresses

We never store raw IP addresses. Where we need to recognise a returning visitor (to stop the same person clicking "I remember this" a hundred times, or to rate-limit submissions), we store a one-way hash salted with a secret key. It cannot be reversed into an address.

Advertising and analytics

Pages that carry display advertising may set cookies from the ad network. Affiliate links pass a referral identifier to the retailer so they know the click came from us. Neither receives your email address or anything you have submitted.

Getting your data removed

Email the address in the footer. We will delete what we hold, and unpublish anything you sent in if you ask us to.
