Vesta Curry
Britain's first ready meal, in a box, with crispy noodles.
Dehydrated curry, rehydrated on the hob, served with rice that came in the same packet and noodles you fried yourself.
Vesta gave a generation of British households their first taste of anything resembling a curry, which explains a great deal about British curry for the following thirty years.
The crispy noodles were the good bit and everybody knew it. There were never enough.
