Corona Pop Man
Fizzy pop delivered to the door, with money back on the bottle.
A lorry, a crate of glass bottles in colours that do not exist in nature, and threepence back for every empty you returned.
Corona's delivery lorries worked the streets like the milkman. Dandelion and burdock, cream soda, cherryade: the whole point was that you chose, and the choice was agonising.
The bottles had a deposit on them, which made empties a currency. Children scoured hedges for abandoned bottles the way later generations searched sofas for pound coins.
