Instagram's Square Photos And X-Pro II
Everything square, everything heavily filtered, everything a bit brown.
Before the algorithm, Instagram was square photos in chronological order with a filter called Valencia on top.
The square crop was a constraint borrowed from Polaroid and it made everything look considered. The filters were aggressive and dated within three years.
Chronological feeds ended in 2016 and a lot of people never really forgave it.
