Britain completed digital switchover in October 2012, ending analogue transmission and taking teletext with it.

Ceefax's final page went out from Northern Ireland in the early hours of 24 October 2012, thirty-eight years after it started.

Millions of perfectly good televisions needed a set-top box, and every spare room in Britain acquired one.
