Britain in this era had an entire genre of government-made short films designed to frighten children away from ponds, railway lines and farm machinery.
The Green Cross Code was the friendly end of it, later fronted by Dave Prowse, who was simultaneously inside a Darth Vader costume. Nobody thought this was strange.
