Cadbury's lattice of caramel, advertised by Terry Scott dressed as a schoolboy, and the subject of a national shrinkage conspiracy.

The bar has genuinely shrunk over the decades, which means for once the nostalgia is factually correct rather than a trick of childhood scale.

It was impossible to eat neatly and impossible to share fairly. The caramel pulled into threads that ended up on your jumper.
