Sticker albums moved to the new Premier League, and the badges were foil, and everyone needed the same three.
Merlin had the Premier League licence in this era and the albums were everywhere. The shiny badge page was the first thing anyone filled.
There was always one player nobody could get, and the rumour was that they printed fewer of him. They did not. It just felt like it.
